Why Ogden Otters?
A Real Need, Met by a Distinctive Model
Ogden Otters is our flagship school, and the proving ground for The Otters Swimming Franchise. Everything below is what every Otters Swimming Franchise location is built on.
The Need
Swimming is a life skill, not simply a leisure activity. Yet too many children lack water confidence or cannot swim safely, and access to high-quality provision varies significantly between communities.

Independent Levelled Lessons
Structured, independent lessons teaching real swimming skills, progressing through levels.

Baby Swimming
Parent-and-baby sessions building the earliest water confidence, together.

Baby Play
Guided play on a float mat, building comfort before structured lessons begin.
Schools may have limited funding, pool time or specialist support. Parents need consistent lessons and clear information about their child's progress. Communities need well-run swimming provision delivered by trained, trusted teams.

Toddler Confidence
Toddlers building the confidence to make their own way into the water.

Learning Through Play
Family alongside them in the water, learning through play and repetition.

Independent Skills
Skills that build toward genuine independence in the water, at each swimmer's own pace.
Through our own school swimming work, we have regularly seen large numbers of children arrive without the confidence or ability to swim independently. This first-hand experience strengthens our determination to improve access to effective swimming education. Over more than nine years we have built twelve local school partnerships, and currently deliver National Curriculum swimming lessons for seven primary schools in the 2026–27 school year.
